In the summer of 2016, a small group of York boat enthusiasts came together to form the Edmonton York Boat Historical Society.

It is the purpose of the Edmonton York Boat Historical Society to promote the city’s little-known boat building history, particularly the construction of York Boats for the fur trade between 1795 and 1905.  Find us on Facebook

Our members are boat builders, carpenters, hobbyists, history buffs, and boat-lovers. You can join us!

We aren’t always THIS serious! This is the beginning of a beautiful thing — a York boat!
